Definition
A word or phrase that modifies
or qualifies an adjective, verb,
or other adverb or a word
group, expressing a relation of
place, time, circumstance,
manner, cause, degree, etc.

ADVERBS OF MANNER
tell us how something happens.
Placed after the main verb or after the object.
Examples: angrily, carefully, carelessly,
cautiously, clearly,happily, and thoughtfully.

ADVERBS OF PLACE
Tells

ADVERBS OF TIME
Tells us when an action happened, but also for
how long, and how often .

Express how certain or sure we feel about an
action or event.
Examples: certainly, definitely, probably,
undoubtedly, surely.

Tells us how often somebody does something.
Examples: always, never, normally,
occasionaly, often, rarely, seldom, sometimes
and usually.
