B. Build
Engage Developers
Karl B

James Ben Nick

– Having created the Design Documentation

in advance saves you $$$ in further
consultation with Developers.

– From here on in, use iterative design.

• Get the developers to create the real thing
• Modify in discussion with the specific
developer.
• Amend screenshots of the sandboxed app
B. Build – Stage 3
Example:
• Take a perfectly good Profile box…
… and scribble all over it to make changes
Integrate with 3rd party suppliers

• We live in a data age

– Facebook users are Consumers of
information
– Information relevant to them and their friends
– You will almost certainly need 3rd party
suppliers for this

• We used
– TradeDoubler
– AffiliateWindow
– Commission Junction
Finished?
• You should now have a finished product…

…but test it first!

C. Test

• Test out all the functionality you wanted

• Go through the old documents and make
sure everything works as intended.
• Create new users as Facebook test
accounts to ensure it works for everyone!
D. Deploy
• Do it!
– Make the app live (take off “dev mode”)
– Submit to the Directory
– Tell your friends!
