Timeline to complete the Guidelines

Objectives
The primary goal is to prevent defects.
While defects may be inevitable, a defect management

process is required to focus on catching and tracking the

defects as early in the process as possible, and
minimizing the impact of defects in Grid Network.
Defect information should be used to improve the

process.

Defect Management Process Flow Chart

(Amendment)
Transmission Defect Management Process Flow Chart
Proposed changes:
from UPK to MSU (Maintenance Support Unit) for key in defects
into SAP system.
from Receiving/ Finding Complaints/ non Comformities relating to
transmission Primary equipment to Receiving/ Finding
Complaints/ non Comformities relating to Regional assest.

Secondary Injection Tests

To check the accuracy of relay operating elements are

within tolerance limits.

To prove the correct operation of the protection scheme

that is downstream from the inputs to the protection

relay(s).
