Electron micrographs are pictures of things &

organisms observed using electron microscope
Halophile cell walls contains pigment
carotenoids which are colored orange or
yellow.
This accounts for such colors of salt ponds
where they are present in large number.
This can be observed in Bulacan, Pangasinan,
Mindoro Oriental, Davao, & Misamis
Occidental.
There are 3 types of Archaebacteria:
Methanogens, Halophiles, & Thermophiles
Two types of Bacteria Reproduction:
Asexual ( Binary Fission), Sexual
(Conjugation)

Spirilla may occur in forms, namely spirillum,

vibrio, and spirochete.
Spirillum is a thick, rigid and spiral.
Vibrio is curved or comma-shaped.
Spirochete is thin, flexible and spiral.
Rennet/ Coagulant contains lactic acid
bacterium added to fresh milk to produce Kesong
Puti.
Lactobacillus is also added to milk used to
produce yoghurt.
Lactobacillus also includes Lactobacillus
Aciduphils, caseii & reutri.

Animalis & lactis, are also used in making
yogurt.

Chlorophyll in algae can be masked, thus, there
can be also golden brown and red algaes.
Caulerpa lentillifera is eaten as salad with
tomatoes and onion.
Seaweed is a term applied to Caulerpa and
other green algae.
Alginate, the brown form of alginic acid, is
present in other green algae.
Alginate is used as stabilizing and thickening
agent in ice creams and other cream products.
Iodine can also be found in Brown Algae.

Carageenan, a complex carbohydrate from red

algae, is used as suspending agents.
Carageenan is also a filtering agents in
beverages.
Microbiologists use agar as a solidifying agent
in the growth medium for microorganisms.
Humans develop malaria when infected with
the protozoan parasite called Plasmodium.
Plasmodium includes: Plasmodium

Fungi

Certain fungi cause wilting of tomato, papaya, corn &

banana.
Fungi can also live together with a single cell alga forming a
Lichen.
There are some mushrooms that are poisonous and not
edible.
A poisonous mushroom has a death cup, white spores, and a
