History
The world court or the ICJ
has been established in
1945 through the San
Francisco conference along
with the UN itself. The
world court before there is
a NCIJ which is made along
with the League of Nations
and existed between 1921-
1939.
Duties and importance
-Purpose = To bring about by peaceful means,

-To end the legally act by law

-ICJ does not make a decision, but enforce its decisions by law

-ICJ could gives an advice to UN and specialized agencies

THIS COURT IS VERY HELPFUL FOR UN TO MAKE A


DECISION ACCORDING TO LAW
The rule of ICJ was merged with
Procedure Charter of UN.(similar)
the main job is to organize
configuration and functioning
of the court.
if the rule need to change, it
must vote on it like Charter. if
it need to change, it need to
send proposal to UNGA first.

Subbodies
ICJ sub-bodies are consist of Chambers and committees.

Chamber comprising of 5 judges , including President and vice president


with 2 substitutes. Each chamber have 3 judges.

Committees break into 3 sub form .First, budgetary and administrative


committee any important decision are decide by this committee. Same
as lay out as chamber

Second, Rules committee. Rules committee duty is to advise the court


working method. Consist of seven judges include substitutes.

Third, Library committee. Library committee duty is to keep International


laws up to date for future use and people who want to research on it.
Consist of four Judges include substitute.

both countries to withdraw their
military forces from the area. The
ICJ ruled on 11 November 2013 that
the land close to the temple on the
east and west (south being
previously agreed as Cambodian,
north as Thai) belongs to Cambodia
