ENGINE
Increasing fuel prices and pollution are the major demerits of Internal Combustion
(IC) engines. Also presently the demand for fuel has increased and in the nearby
future, shortage of fossil fuels is being expected due to the ever growing
consumption. So need of alternative energy has become necessary. The main aim of
the project is the zero point fuel consumption. The working principle of the engine is
the magnetic force principle, i.e. magnetic repulsion between the same poles of two
different magnets. When similar poles of two different magnets come in contact with
each other they repel each other. This phenomenon of repulsion is used in this engine
to create motion.
PRINCIPLE & CIRCUIT
Based on the principle of
magnetism
When like poles of a magnet is
brought together they repel
away from each other and vice
versa.
This is same for the case of an
electromagnet and a permanent
magnet too.
So the idea is to modify the
piston head and cylinder head
into magnets so that the force
can be generated between them
CONSTRUCTION& WORKING
Step-1
We are using ac solenoid coil in our project to give angular motion to
our crank shaft.
Coil detail:
Brand: IDEAL -2.0kg/15mm a.c 220v
Step-3
We attach solenoid coil with crank shaft as shown below .
Step-4
Now we fix complete body frame on the ply board base with help of
bearing.
Step-5
We use 220v ac current to drive our 4 ac coil at 4 different angles; we fix
one common wire of ac supply in all 4 coils and rest of 4 wire of coil is
fixed on circular copper disk and then we fix other ac supply on crankshaft
as shown below diagram.
Step-6
Now we cross crank shaft rode from copper disk as shown and connect crank
shaft supply with copper disk with help of simple wire for complete coil
current.
COMPONENTS USED FOR ACCOMPLISHING THE TASK
Type: push-pull
Stroke:15mm
Attractive force:14.7N(1.5Kgf)
Weight:1.0kg
Rods in crankshaft
Length of long rods = 65mm
Length of small rods = 35mm
CRANKSHAFT
DESIGN & CALCULATION
No
of electromagnet = 4
Force by 1 electromagnet = 14.7N
Total force = 4*14.7N = 58.8N
Power consumed by 1 electromagnet = V*I
V= Voltage =220v
I = Current = 1.4 A
Power = V*I =220*1.4 = 380 W
Total power consumed by 4 electromagnets = 380*4 = 1520 W
Torque = force * crank radius = yet to determine
Output power = 2
N = speed
T = torque
Efficiency = (Output/Input) 100
MERITS
There is no hazard to the surroundings because electromagnetic engines cause
no atmospheric pollution.
Recharge Points
Electricity isnt Free
Short Driving Range and Speed
Longer Recharge Time
Normally 2 Seaters
Battery Replacement
