Brief description of the software: Compass Learning solutions identify current performance levels, diagnose skill and
concept gaps, and draw upon literally thousands of digital learning activities to prescribe individualized learning paths for
each and every student.
Curriculum areas the software meets or addresses: Blended learning, ELA, Math, Science, English, Social Studies,
Electives, Intervention Solutions, Credit Recovery, and even Project Based Learning.
What are the strengths and weaknesses of the software? Strengths: Individualized learning, helpful, simple, fun.
Weaknesses: Teacher needs to create pretest for each student to determine where they are.
How long did it take you to become familiar with the program? About 1 week
How long might it take students? Why? Only a few days. Compass Learning is very easy to access and simple to
navigate.

One technology hardware product that has educational value, or
canbe adapted for educational use is the cell phone or smartphone
Although a smartphone is not new, using it in the classroom or for
educational purposes is
Cell phones or smartphones can be used in the classroom to access
online dictionaries or other tools for language development
Smartphones can also help with learning educational content due to
there being access to online textbooks

The price of a smartphone, such as an Apple iPhone or a
Samsung Galaxy s5 Android Phone can range from
anywhere between $400 - about $600 new, but there are
plenty other smartphones that are more inexpensive.
You can find a smartphone at almost any place including a
T-Mobile, Verizon, or a Sprint store and also at Wal-Mart

Innovative Uses
An educational institution that is using technology in a
unique way to enhance student learning and achievement
is East Career and Technical Academy.
ECTA uses technology such as iPads, iMacs, and laptops to
enhance student learning.
The use of technology helps in the areas of problem
solving, collaborating, communicating effectively,
becoming technologically literate.
Innovative Uses (cont.)
ECTA also incorporates technology when working on PBLs
and when showcasing students achievements.
All of the programs at ECTA heavily involve technology
use.
