Reinforcement Details of Structural Component

Common Structural Components of RCC structures are

Column
Beams
Slab
Stairs

Usually a section of a column or beam with rectangular or

square shape requires at least 4 corner bar, which is 6 if it is
circular section.
Usually there are two types of bar in beam to serve different purposes,
all details will be discussed in RCC course; one is main bar and other
one shear reinforcement.

Generally main bars are laid to connect supports and shear bars are
laid in perpendicular direction of them.

The purpose of shear is to hold the man bar in position and to carry
shear loads , details will be discussed in Mechanics of solids course.

But all these bar can not be positioned in place when concrete is poured; it is
the shear bars which keep them in position as required.
