INVENTOR
Roger Bacon who first recognized the visible spectrum
in a glass of water. Four centuries later, Isaac Newton
discovered that prisms could disassemble and
reassemble white light.

DEFINITION
The visible light is the portion of
the electromagnetic wave that is visible to (can be
detected by) the human eye.
A typical human eye will respond to wavelengths
from about 390 to 700 nm.
In terms of frequency is about 430790 THz.
REFRLECTION

DISVERSI
DIFRACTION

POLARIZATION INTERFERENCE

REFRACTION
LIGHT CHARACTERISTIC
Disversi (penguraian)
Dispersion occurs because the waves change its shape when passing through a
dispersive medium (medium that can change speed depending on frequency)
LIGHT CHARACTERISTIC
Reflection (pemantulan)

In reflaction we can apply the

Snelius law, they are:
1. That the come angle and
the normal line is in athe
samemedium
2. The come angle and the
reflective angle is equal
each other
LIGHT CHARACTERISTIC
Refraction (pembiasan)
Refraction means that if the light is bending its own direction
between two medium
LIGHT CHARACTERISTIC
Diffraction (pembelokan)
The incident occurred due to wave diffraction flex its energy
LIGHT CHARACTERISTIC
Interference (penjumlahan)
The interference occurred due to a combination of two waves with
different frequencies and phases of the same stick together.
LIGHT CHARACTERISTIC
Polarization (Pengutuban)

The incident occurred as the wave

polarization trasversal experiencing
absorption of vibration direction.

RAINBOW PRINCIPLE
Beam of sunlight on water droplets are large, then the
beam is refracted by the front surface of the water.
At the point when the light enters the water, some
light will be reflected by the back surface of the water.
Then on the front surface and finally refracted by the
front surface.
Because of refracted, the beam is also broken down
into the solar spectrum.
DETAIL OF APPLICATION:
RAINBOW
ADVANTAGES
Advantage: Our eyes are sensitive to visible light, and,
coupled with the brain, that allows us to see.
DISADVANTAGES
Disadvantages:
1. Wavelengths are too long to permeate skin, hence the use of
shorter x-rays instead to examine bone structure of a living being.
2. Are readily absorbed/reflected, which is why we discern the
colors of objects; this is not a good thing for transmitting
information over long distances, hence the use of much longer
wave length radio waves
3. Not easily discernible at low levels (i.e., in the dark). Switching to
the slightly longer infrared allows tracking of heat sources such as
machinery and living things in the dark.
QUESTION DESIGN

How is visible light detected?

What are its main characteristics?
How is light created?
CONCLUSION
The visible light can be find everywhere in daily
life.
The visible spectrum is the portion of
the electromagnetic spectrum that is visible to
(can be detected by) the human eye.
