Sand blasting technique is based on blasting an abrasive material (Most
of time sand) in granular, powdered or other form through a nozzle at
very high speed and pressure onto specific areas of the garments surface
to be treated to give the desired abraded look or used look.
 Individual garment to be processed is taken on a table.

Air compressor is started and pressure to be maintained between 3 4 kg/sq.cm.

Air compressor then stores air in the machine cylinder. Aluminum sand or silicon

sand, Al2(SiO4)3, is then taken in the chamber of the blasting machine.

Sand and compressed air are then sprayed over the garments at specific points at 10-

200 angle by hand spray pipe.

 Sands pass into the machine by regulating system.
The machine comprises a blasting regulator and a hand regulator to
control the amount of sand and compressed air respectively.
The angle of sand blowing is very important. Higher the blowing angle,
higher the fading effect and higher the risk of fabric damage.
Fading is done on pre-marked area.
This process is isolated now a days due to health hazards & buyers do not like the
results of sandblast because its covers the characteristics of fabric. This process being
done by using different kin d of sand blown to garments with air pressure to rub out
the color.
Whiskers are one of the most important design of a used look garment. The idea of
whiskers is taken from the worn out lines and impression patterns generated by
natural wearing on hips and front thigh area.
 Hand Whisker: During hand whisker the following elements are used-

Laser whisker:
The laser is applied on the fabric according to the require intensity. Which shown a special effect after wash.
There are three parts in laser M / C Computer part, Siler part (chemical section) & Laser part. Here at first
the design is made up in computer by photo-shop after it this design is transferred to the laser M / C. Then
according to the require intensity the laser applied on the design portion.
 A process of whiskers denim, canvas, twill, corduroy garments is deserved
below-
By rubber pattern & sand blasting gun i.e. rubber pattern set on garment
and sand through over the pattern.
By manually created whisker by sand paper on garment.

Make a pattern just like pacific whisker and put it inside the garment, then
rubbing front side of garment over pattern.
Mentioned all process is done on garments fading effects occurs in
garments.
By P.P. spray and P.P. sponging on garments.
 .

A hand scraper is a single-edged tool used to scrape metal from a

surface. This may be required where a surface needs to be trued,
corrected for fit to a mating part, needs to retain oil (usually on a
freshly ground surface), or even to give a decorative finish.
 Sand scraping,
Blasting scraping,
Machine scraping.
PP Spray means potassium permanganate spray on the garments at specific area .
This chemical is sprayed to reduce the color from garments .
First, the garments is put into dummy then the forced air circulation is applied
Then we spray pp with the help of pp gun aided by air pressure .
This spray is done on the scrapping area and after neutralization a white look
appears on the spray area.

pp concentrations range from 0.25-15 gm/L depending to require
results and fabric type

 PP spray solution is sprayed on blasted area of jeans garments with

PP spray in best is done in specific spray booths where dummies are

Grinding
Grinding is the process by which we will get the used
effect of garments .This process is completely done at
edges area .If the garments has two time wash that time
we will wash it after first wash to avoid the damages of
garments
Destroy is a process which is done by pen grinding machine.
At first, the garments is marked then slightly attached with
this machine. During the process the cellulose is removed.
After wash we can get a good destroy look of garments. This
process can also be done by another method.
