ASEAN Vision 2020 is an idea

to make ASEAN as a concert of
Southeast Asian nations,
outward looking, living in
peace, stability and prosperity,
bonded together in
partnership in dynamic
development and in a
community of caring societies

by 2020 the region will envisioned to be in

full reality, a ZOPFAN area where disputes
are resolved by peaceful means as
envisaged in Kuala Lumpur Declaration of
1971.
By 2020, ASEAN would have established a
peaceful and stable Southeast Asia where
each nation is at peace and causes of
conflict have been eliminated through
abiding respect for justice and the rule of
law and the strengthening of national and
regional resilience.

A Partnership in Dynamic Development

this vision calls for closer economic

integration within ASEAN,
enhance ASEAN economic cooperation,
sustain ASEANs high economic performance
and moving towards closer cohesion,
narrowing the gap in the level of
