One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA)
What:
Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) is a hypothesis-testing technique used to test
the equality of two or more population (or treatment) means by examining
the variances of samples that are taken.
When:
I. The dependent variable comprises data measured at interval or ratio
level;
II. The data drawn from a population which is normally distributed;
III. There is homogeneity of variance – that the samples being compared are
drawn from populations which have the same variance;
IV. In the case of independent groups designs, independent random samples
must have been taken from each population.
