Compassionate humanitarian intervention

from international bodies is designed to
Conclusion save lives and alleviate suffering during
and in the aftermath of earthquake.

It is always important to know what to do in

the case of an earthquake, in order to
reduce damage and injury caused by
earthquakes to the minimum possible.
Earthquake management is required even in the country with
low to moderate seismic activity level such as Malaysia.

The recent earthquake in Ranau also brought to light the level of

“unpreparedness” by authorities in dealing with the crisis.

Recommendation
s New buildings must follow regulations that allow structures to
withstand earthquake tremors.

As it currently stands, Malaysia does not have any standards or

guidelines for making buildings, bridges and public transport
quake-safe which is an opportunity for the government to
improve standard operating procedures (SOP), which should be
reviewed and updated to suit recent events.
As a peer, public awareness on earthquake self-precautions
among students are important in order for student to be
prepared in case of an earthquake such as earthquake
drills.

Earthquake drills and exercises are an extremely important

part of your preparedness plan because:

Recommendati
1) To teach students on how to respond to the complications
ons of an actual earthquake.

2) To help on how well all parts of your emergency plan work

together, and how well students have been trained.
