First, Thai and Malay Malaysian, these two cultures have one
outstanding different, which is the religion. The Malay Malaysians are
Muslims, while most of Thais are Buddhism. In Buddhism, people do not
worship any specific god, but they believe more in actions and the
consequences of those actions which can be referred as “Karma”. In
Buddhism, “Karma” is one of the most important guideline in the Buddhist’s
set of guidelines. Therefore, the values in religion aspect are different. On the
other hand, the similar values of these two cultures are also existed, for
example, indirectness, politeness, and the respect for others. It is important
for both cultures to show respect to people with higher social position as both
of them accept the hierarchical structure society.
Next, Thai and Chinese Malaysian are quite different in term of life’s
priority. Chinese Malaysian values about education, success, wealth, and
more. From all these things, it can be implied that Chinese Malaysians are
quite Masculinity. As the consequence, the priority of Chinese Malaysians
is different from Thai. Thai people focus more in maintaining working life
and family life, because they think that to have a successful in working life
is not the true success, while having a good family and having a good
relationship with others will conquer all.

The problem between Malaysia - Thailand
• One of the problem is the drug smuggling route from Thailand to Malaysia through
borders.
• Sadao and Sungai Golok are the two most popular drug smuggling routes by
internationally-linked syndicates to bring various types of drugs into Malaysia.
• Usually Sadao which borders Bukit Kayu Hitam in Kedah would be the preferred route
for syndicates known to deal with synthetic drugs like ‘Ice’ and ‘Crystal’
Methaphetamine as well as heroin, cannabis.
• Whereas, Sungai Golok which separates Narathiwat province in Thailand and the state
of Kelantan in Malaysia has been identified as the “favoured” route for drug syndicates
specializing in smuggling “Yaba” in Thailand or “Pil Kuda” as it is known in Malaysia.
• The geographical location of Sungai Golok viz-a-viz Kelantan and east coast
Malaysian states has made it the favoured route for syndicates
• So, this syndicates will affect the society in Malaysia that will involving various
age level
• However, this problem has been no disputed openly among this two country. This is
because of the understanding between both country to settled the problem with
peacefully.
