CTLS Concept  Abbreviations and Naming’s

Carton or Bundle: wrapped (poly or carton outer) and labelled set of PMI Philip Morris Central Team
several packs of cigarettes
PT Pack Tracking
CBL Case Barcode Label. Label with unique ID at the shipping case,
containing also the 2D code for the T&T system reader. Reader 2D-reading unit, usually automatic (Cognex Dataman 302X), in
some cases manual (Datalogic).
CP Case Packer
Shipping Unit to store Cartons (Bundles) in, usually organised in 5 rows
CTLS Carton Tracking Line System, Hermos hardware and software to Case consisting of 5 cartons, in one or two layers (numbers may differ
collect Bundle to Shipping Case data connections
SME Subject Matter Expert, either global or regional or factory-wise.
Daisybar Hermos Pack Tracking Solution for inline conveyed bundles with
clear wrap T&T Track & Trace or Tracking & Tracing on level 2 (meaning the
aggregation level)
Dot Code Printed Code on Packs, by a propriety coding process

FM Fully Manual Carton Tracking solution, it realises a T&T solution for

a manual carton filling process

Link-Up Cigarette Machine Unit out of Maker and Packer section, at which’s
end stream cartons will be packed into cases and conveyed to
further process sections.

Peribox Pack Tracking reading unit, which allows to capture all pack dot
codes by one trigger and concurrent bundle label data association
