Execution Philosophy

Khopoli Pump Dismantling


ISOLATING PUMP 201 – A (First Shutdown)
Iso-metreic drawing of the existing piping at KBS
ISOLATING PUMP 201 – A (First Shutdown)
Station inlet & outlet valves and Upstream valves of Basket filter
should be closed.
ISOLATING PUMP 201 – A (First Shutdown)
Product from upstream valves of basket filter to upstream valves of
PCV should be drained in the sump tank. (~15KL)
ISOLATING PUMP 201 – A (First Shutdown)
Basket filter -01 and flow Meter-01 along with their respective u/s &
d/s valves will be dropped.
Piping from flow Meters to Suction valve & NRV of Pump 201 A will be
dropped.
Suction/discharge valves & NRV across pump 201 A will be dropped.
ISOLATING PUMP 201 – A (First Shutdown)
Piping after dropping Basket filter -01, flow Meter-0, Suction/discharge
valves & NRV across pump 201 A.
ISOLATING PUMP 201 – A (First Shutdown)
Pre-fabricated & tested temporary spool piece SP 1 will be placed
between d/s Flow Meter Expander and d/s flange NRV across pump
201A as shown below.

Piping between Basket filter & Flow Meter will be shifted as shown
below.

The open ends will be blinded.
DISMANTLING PUMP 201–A
Station inlet valve is opened and the station piping is pressurized. The
pumps will be vented and kept ready for pumping.
Isolated pump 201A can be removed and area will e cleared for casting
of new foundation.
PRE-REQUISITE FOR REVISED PIPING
All pre-fabricated spool pieces will be hydro-tested and kept
ready.
Following items are delivered at site
– 12” 900# Plug Valve (9 Nos.)
– 12” 900# Check Valves (3 Nos.)
– New 8” Flow Meter
Pipe supports & equipment foundation are casted and kept
ready for installation.
Suction header will be at same elevation as that of existing
header and discharge header will be at +350 mm elevation than
suction header.
Displacement Water Line is re-aligned.
INSTALALTION OF MODIFIED PIPING
Proposed location of basket filter & flow Meter.

Pre-fabricated spools SP2 & SP3 will be placed in position
INSTALALTION OF MODIFIED PIPING
Pre-fabricated Suction header will be placed in position.
INSTALALTION OF MODIFIED PIPING
Pre-fabricated Discharge header will be placed in position.
INSTALALTION OF MODIFIED PIPING
Earlier removed basket filter and new 8” Flow Meter will be placed in
position.
INSTALALTION OF MODIFIED PIPING
SP4 will be placed in position.
INSTN. OF MOD. PIPING (Shutdown-02)
Station inlet & Out valves are closed and product from basket filter to
PCVs will be drained to Sump Tank.
INSTN. OF MOD. PIPING (Shutdown-02)
Basket Filter-02 and Flow Meter-02 will be dropped.
INSTN. OF MOD. PIPING (Shutdown-02)
Piping between Basket Filter-02 and Flow Meter-02, temp. Spool SP-2
and existing pump header till PCV will be dropped.
INSTN. OF MOD. PIPING (Shutdown-02)
Piping between Basket Filter-02 and Flow Meter-02, temp. Spool SP-2
and existing pump header till PCV will be dropped.
INSTN. OF MOD. PIPING (Shutdown-02)
Spool SP-5 will be placed on upstream of basket filters.
Basket filter-02 and flow-Meter -02 will be placed in their respective
revised positions.

Existing Plug Valves and Check valves will removed from each of pump
suction and discharge arms. Valves on u/s of PCV will also be replaced.

Existing Plug Valves and Check valves will removed from each of pump
suction and discharge arms. Valves on u/s of PCV will also be replaced.

Suction & discharge arms of existing pumps 201B & 201C. Will be
dropped.

Pre-fabricated Suction & discharge arms will be erected to the existing
pumps 201B & 201C.
Spool piece SP-4 and SP-6a7 SP-6b will also be placed in position.

Newly procured Plug valves & Check valves will be placed in position.
