 1. INTRODUCTION

1.1. Overview about internship

• The objective of this Internship training program is to prepares
us for working life after graduation by giving us the opportunity
to gain exposure and insight of the working world. This can be
achieved by fulfilling tasks in various projects within the
company.
• The internship program is designed to expose us to a
collaborative, professional office environment and a team of
experienced design professionals.
• The goal of the second Internship is to provide effective
professional preparation for us through office experience.
1.2. Background of the organization

 EM consulting architecture and engineering company is a recently

established consulting firm which works in Mutahir Ahmed
General contractor(GC).

 Mutahir Ahmed General Contractor has the mandate to participate

in all governmental & Non-governmental organization construction
procurements as construction General contractor in category.
 Service of the organization
The CM consulting architecture and engineering (artilantis design studio )
company provides the following services :-
 Architectural design
 Structural design
 Electrical design
 Sanitary design
 Interior design and landscape design
 3D design (building photography)
 Quantity surveying and cost estimation
 Construction GC-5 (Building construction and water work)

 5.REFLECTION
• This two months internship program fit my career goals in many directions. For instance,
my career goal is to satisfy the most demanding construction needs in Ethiopia or
elsewhere in the world. To achieve this it is required to be effective in my job by
performing all my duties with good performance. To be effective Such as, diligence,
resigned, punctuality…etc. things are required. And scarification of time, effort,
knowledge and other technical skill are also important in achieving the goal I mentioned
above. Similarly I have seen the same thing in this internship program. It provide me
opportunities to learn so many new thing from the work executed in the practical world.
Not only this it also help me to be patient because sometimes the working environment is
exhausting.

• As a result of this internship program, I inspired to reinforce my earlier plan to achieve

my career gaol.
 Challenges I have faced during the internship

In order to integrate and work closely in each section it is challenging task to

one person especially for the beginner. However, the challenges are difficult I
tried to overcome some of the challenges.

In addition I have faced the following challenges in the internship period:

• Communication problem during the beginning of the internship program.

• Lack of knowledge on some portion of the work in the office.

 REFLECTION ON DEVELOPED AREAS AND SKILLS

• Improve my communication : At the beginning of my internship, I

realized that I didn’t communicate often. Halfway my internship I have improved this by
communicating more with the interns that I have worked with and talking to them about
all kind different subjects.
• Public relation : I have achieved this by practicing speaking freely in the office
with the staff members and other guest come into the office for various issue. This all
practice has helped me develop and improve my relation with public in working
environment
• Work precisely :I want to work more precisely. At the beginning of my
internship, I noticed that there
are lots of mistakes found in my work. Mistakes in selection of color and structurally
difficult elements on the building façade. also in delivering work that is not finished.
Halfway my internship, I have improved in this area by accepting constructive criticism
and changes. And focusing better on my work
• More initiative :I want to show more initiative during internships. At the
beginning I had trouble

1. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE INTERNSHIP COMPANY

• CM consulting architecture and engineering company is

not that much enough to give matured knowledge for
interns.
