The World Literacy Foundation (WLF) is a global not-for-


profit that works to lift young people out of poverty through
the power of literacy.

Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) was founded in 1895 as


the New York Zoological Society (NYZS) and currently works
to conserve more than two million square miles of wild places
around the world.

Today WCS is at work on some 500 projects in more than 60


nations around the world that are intended to help protect
both wildlife and the wild places in which they live.
toys for tots

Toys for Tots is a program run by the Unite States Marine


Corp Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents
cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. The program
was founded in 1947.

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, a not-for-profit public


charity located in Triangle, Virginia, serves to fund, raise funds
for, and support the program.
BMGF

Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), previously


branded as the 'William H. Gates Foundation', is a private
foundation founded by Bill and Melinda Gates. The primary
aims of the foundation are, globally, to enhance healthcare and
reduce extreme poverty, and, in the US, to expand educational
opportunities and access to information technology.

Netherlands Leprosy Relief is a non-governmental


organization, established on 30 March 1967, which promotes
and supports the eradication of leprosy and all its
consequences in seven regions where the disease is endemic.
Li Ka Shing Foundation

The Li Ka Shing Foundation is a Hong Kong-based charitable


organization founded in 1980 by Hong Kong entrepreneur Li
Ka-Shing. It is the second largest private foundation led by a
wealthy individual in the world, after BMGF.

Li Ka-shing considers the Li Ka Shing Foundation to be his


"third son" and has pledged to donate one-third of his assets
to support philanthropic projects.

The Li Ka Shing Foundation's story stretches back over three


decades: Having grown up witness to suffering and illness, Li
Ka-shing cultivated a compassion that set in motion the idea
of establishing a charitable foundation.
Lepra

Lepra is a UK registered international charity. With a history


spanning almost 90 years, they currently work on the frontline
in India and Bangladesh to treat, educate, rehabilitate and give
a voice to people affected by disease, poverty and prejudice
and discrimination. Since then Lepra has grown to be an
international charity giving a voice to people living at the
intersection of disease, poverty and prejudice by helping them
to improve their health, lives and livelihoods.
The Idries Shah Foundation

The Idries Shah Foundation (ISF) is an independent


educational and cultural charity based in London, England, the
charity is primarily for the study, dissemination of knowledge,
and promotion of Sufi arts, literature, culture and heritage, with
special focus on the published works of Idries Shah.
HFHI

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI), generally


referred to as Habitat for Humanity or simply Habitat, is an
international, non-governmental, and nonprofit organization.
Habitat has been devoted to building "simple, decent, and
affordable" housing, a self-described "Christian housing
ministry," and has addressed the issues of poverty housing all
over the world.
International Medical Corps
International Medical Corps is a global humanitarian nonprofit
organization established by volunteer doctors and nurses. The
organization is a global first responder during disaster and
humanitarian crisis providing emergency medical relief, delivering
health care to underserved regions, building clinics, and training
local health care workers with the goal of creating self-reliant, self-
sustaining medical services and infrastructure in places where that
had previously been lacking.

International Medical Corps focuses on health services support


including primary and secondary health care, prevention and
treatment of infectious diseases, supplemental food for
malnourished children, clean water and hygiene education, mental
health and psychosocial care, women's & children's health including
gender-based violence, and emergency response and preparedness.
