Anefficient automotive security system is implemented foranti-theft using an embedded system integrated with Global Positioning System (GPS) and Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM). This project is aiming to design & development of a theft control system, which is being used to prevent/control the theft of a vehicle. This complete system is designed taking in consideration the low range vehicles to provide them extreme security. The developed system makes use of embedded systems based on Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) technology with CAN bus along with RFID systems. The RFID reader will be interfaced with the microcontroller through the serial interface to detect the hospitals, hotels, petrol bunks, temples etc. The developed system makes use of a mobile phone that is embedded in the vehicle with an interfacing to the Engine Control Module (ECM) through the CAN Area Control (CAN) Bus, which is in turn, communicated to the ECM. The proposed system can be implemented using software. This system uses android mobile phones as mobile terminal, which is more convenient and flexible than other kinds of like products since the owner can check and track the position of the car immediately with android mobile phone application once the car is stolen.
