 Personnel Management according to
(Obioma Oha) is the “harnessing of all
skills and potentials of the effective labour
force which is very necessary for an
organization to achieve its goal.
 It is also the acquisition, development,
utilization and maintenance of the labour
force.
SCOPE OF PERSONNEL
MANAGEMENT

 Training/Development
 Promotion/Compensation
 Employee relations
 Departmental relations
 Industrial relations e.t.c
SUPERVISION
This is the sensitizing, mobilizing and
motivating of personnel towards performing
their duties optimally in terms of achieving
the stated aims and objectives of the
organization (Nwankwo).

Based on our sector (Agro-Allied Industry),

supervision cuts across managers and
supervisors.
DUTIES OF A SUPERVISOR
 Planning
 Co-ordination
 Observation and
 Assessment
CONCLUSION
Going by the two authorities, it is clear
that personnel management and
supervision in the Agro-Allied Industry
is not left in the hands of Managers
alone, therefore to achieve the
organization’s goals and objectives,
supervision should be considered
very vital.
