This course is designed to familiarize the students

with advanced microprocessor operation and in
particular the 8086 microprocessor. The student will
interface and troubleshoot the 8086 and in addition
the student will be able to describe and perform data
transfer, addition and subtraction, logical and jump
instructions.

§ Microprocessor is the heart of computer .

§ Intel¶s 80x86 family of microprocessor is the most widely used architecture in
modern microcomputer systems.{8088,8086,80186,80286,80386,80486 & Pentium
processor}.
§ Intel 8086 is the excellent entry point for learning about microprocessor
§ The student will be able to incorporate these concepts into their electronic designs
for other courses where control can be achieved via a microprocessor/controller
implementation.
§ This course is extremely hardware-oriented. Students will comprehend the basic
requirements and layout for building a microcomputer and applying those concepts
to achieve a dedicated ³embedded´ controller to develop a larger system.
§ Pipelined architecture ,Multiprocessor system, Math coprocessor , Memory
management
§ Introduction to 8 bit Microcontroller 8051
