HISTORY OF TATA TELESERVICES

Incorporated in 1996. It is the pioneer of CDMA 1xtechnology in India. It launched mobile operation in January 2005 under the brand name TATA INDICOM. The company is also a market leader in wireless telephony market. Tata teleservices also presence in GSM space through in join venture with NTT DOCOMO of Japan

TATA Indicom (CDMA services)

Having pioneered the CDMA- 1x technology platform in India, TATA Teleservices has established a 3Gready robust and reliable telecom infrastructure in partnership with Motorola, Ericsson and Lucent.

TATA DOCOMO (GSM services)

TATA DOCOMO was formed out of strategic TATA group alliance with Japanese telecom major NTT DOCOMO in 2008. It has brought into limelight the 3G technology and services like the i-mode TM, mobile payment and plethora of lifeenhancing applications.

VIRGIN MOBILE
The founder of VIRGIN brand was Sir Richard Branson. VIRGIN stands for value for money, quality, innovation and a sense of competitive challenge. TATA Teleservices has a joint venture with VIRGIN. Currently the company uses TATA s CDMA network to offer its services under the brand name VIRGIN Mobile.
