BRULEICS FASHION SHOW

Date: Saturday, 3rd December 2011


Venue: Queens Hall, University of Leicester (Tentative) Time: 12.30pm

INTRODUCTION
An afternoon filled with fashion, fun and entertainment! To allow you to be familiar with the complex rules and regulations we have decided to create a presentation format for easier understanding.

OBJECTIVES
To create an opportunity for students to exhibit their creativity as well as train their talents in vocational work. To promote the existence and awareness of Brunei Darussalam with its beautiful culture. To encourage cooperation among the members of each society and stimulate good inter-society relationship.

RULES AND REGULATIONS


Eligibility Open to Bruneian societies where the participants are BSU members. Each society is allowed to send more than one team. Each team are to pay a registration fee of 15 to participate.

Clothing Modest, unrevealing clothing preferably covering the aurat. For female models: clothes should conceal the skin until the wrist and the ankle. For male models: Sleeveless attire is not allowed.

Participants
A maximum of 4 models: 2 males and 2 females 1 designer 1 hairstylist / head dresser 1 make up artist

NB: Therefore there should be a maximum of 7 people allowed backstage during the fashion show. The teams are permitted to involve as many people as they like to create the attire before the event.

CATEGORIES
Traditional Autumn / Winter Gaga

1.TRADITIONAL
Optional participation. This will just be a runway to showcase the different styles of traditional clothing in Brunei. Examples: Baju Kurung. Baju Opah, Baju Kebaya, Baju Kawin, Baju Cara Melayu, Baju MIB, Kain Songket, Kain Pelikat.

2. AUTUMN / WINTER
Category for competition. This category will involve using clothes donations from respective societies or if they choose to acquire them from charity shops. The clothes will then be up for a silent auction for the audience. The profit from this auction will be donated to a chosen charity organization.

3. GAGA
Category for competition. The clothes in this category involves using any materials that can be found in a house to create the most over the top ensemble. For example: Bubble wraps, balloons, newspapers, CDs, other recyclable materials. Be environmentally friendly.

THE COMPETITION
Each team that is participating in the event must enter the Autumn/Winter and the Gaga categories.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
3 judges will be invited to assess the Autumn/Winter and Gaga category Each category has:
Best hair / head dress Best makeup Best design Best walk (Only for female)

Main prize:
The best overall design from both categories. The models will be crowned Awang Brunei and Dayang Brunei.

A registration form is sent together with this presentation. Submission of the form must be sent to bruleics@gmail.com by 5.30pm on Sunday, the 30th of October 2011. The registration fee of 15 is to be sent to:

IMPORTANT NOTICE
