Course Title:ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGIES-7

Time:16 weeks

This is a course which enables students of architecture to understand and master technology applied to architecture. This course is the ultimate in continuation of the Architectectural Technologies and focuses on the practice and management of an architects work

To make students able in the selection of materials for use in roads; kerbs; pavements; road markings; traffic flow control measures including Woonerfs.
Enable students to use hard landscape materials in the urban context. Enable students to learn about street furniture types and materials, finishes and colours related to function of an urban space. Make the students aware and well versed in the application and use of analytical tools such as Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). To develop professional competencies in the students for practice and project management including familiarisation with contracts, clients, briefs, marketing, ethics and social responsilbilities, building codes; by laws; reglulatory bodies, national regulations.

Develop the ability to re-use and re-cycle waste or existing materials and buildings for modern day and future needs.
Enable students to think beyond buildings about the wider application of Architecture.

The course being a theoretical course shall be conducted through lectures by faculty member and guest speakers/specialists. The class will convene twice a week as given in the time table but the schedule of guest speakers is subject to change without notice. Students will display their learning and achievment of objectives through research based assignments to related topics, sessional and final examinations.

The grades in this course shall be awarded in stages and different activities shall be judged separately as follows [subject to change as per college rules/direction]:
a. Attendance and contribution in discussions b. First Sessional Exam c. First Assignment d. Second Sessional Exam e. Quiz f. Term assignment and final exam (20 + 30) 10% 10% 10% 15% 5% 50%

All paper used shall be A series ie A4, A3 .. any deviation may be penalized. Submissions of all projects/reports must be proper and bound with the following components unless otherwise specified: Name of Department, course, student, teacher, title and date. All photos/graphics or tables must be annotated and duly credited. Acknowledgements as required. All reports, assignmnts must be written in students own words, 'copy and paste' is considered as cheating/ pliagirism. Pliagirism in any form shall be penalized please consult if in doubt. All bibliographic references to books and even web site must be made in a proper manner.
